Students Advise Boehner: Take a Break

In announcing the House would be in session Saturday but not Sunday, House GOP leaders are following guidance House Speaker John Boehner received from an  unusual quarter.

Students at a District of Columbia Catholic school Mr. Boehner has supported recently sent him cards with advice, and he read three at the opening of Friday’s meeting of the House Republican Conference.

One came from a student there who wrote, “When I have a problem, I take a day off,’’ according to one House Republican attending the meeting.

The Senate also is expected to be in  session Saturday but not Sunday – a rare moment of agreement between the House and the Democratic controlled Senate.

“It’s one of the few things Harry Reid did right, not have votes on Sunday,’’ said Rep. Rob Bishop (R., Utah), referring to the Senate Majority Leader.
